ABOUT LEARNING PATHWAYS
Since 2006, we have empowered students with the skills and learning resources they need to achieve academic success. I know firsthand how frightening and confusing it is when your child is diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia because I went through it with my son. I knew something was amiss when he struggled to read and continued to struggle. The school kept telling me he'd "be a spontaneous reader" or he'd "just one day start reading all at once." Well, that's not at all how it works. We have to be taught how to read, and when you have dyslexia, you have to be taught in a very specific way. Once he got targeted intervention, he took off as most kids do.
We take the scary out and craft a personalized program to build a strong foundation in a warm, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Our talented and professional team provides tutoring services using only evidence-based methods including Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell, which are both proven to remediate and support students who are struggling with reading, writing, and math. We provide services in our learning center one-on-one or connect remotely via Zoom--whichever is most convenient for your child and suits your needs. We get great results regardless of where we meet. Give us a call. I'm always happy to help in any way--even it's just moral support!

I started Learning Pathways 15 years ago with one purpose--to make sure students who struggle with reading or writing due to dyslexia or dysgraphia (or just not being able to keep up) would get what they need. I have walked this walk, and that gives me a unique perspective--that of a provider AND a parent. To watch my son struggle was heartbreaking, and at the time, finding services was a challenge. As a mom searching for answers, I researched first and then got trained in multisensory, structured literacy. I was then and am still committed to making sure that every student we work with reaches their potential in a warm, supportive environment where learning is fun. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell and love to teach! There is just nothing better than working with a student who comes in below grade level and to light that spark and see the fire start about learning. I haven't met a student I couldn't teach to read yet. In my spare time, I love to run, bake, ski, hike, and garden.

I have been an educator for the past 17 years. I have worked with many different levels from preschool all the way up to coaching volleyball at the high school level. I was most recently a primary classroom teacher for the past 7 years and decided at the end of the 2018 school year that I wanted to continue in teaching, but look in a different direction. This is when I found Learning Pathways! Teaching literacy has always been my passion as well as my strongest area of teaching. Seeing students grow in reading is the most rewarding for me. When they begin to understand that there are many rules about how we read and write the lightbulbs begin to turn on and it is some amazing to watch the growth. I love that I can make a difference here at Learning Pathways because of the one-on-one teaching, as well as the hybrid method that includes Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell we use to teach the literacy content. I look forward to making a difference in every child’s life that I get the opportunity to work with in this next adventure in my teaching career.
